TREATMENT
The title of our film is 'Hidden' and the genre is action-war. As a group we have chosen this specific genre beacause we all have a keen interest and enjoy watching these types of films. Our primary audience for the action genre would be from 15 onwards; we are planning to set the story outside so that the elder audiences may also have an interest in it. We plan to make it complicated yet simple, so that the audience are hooked to the film and want to carry on watching. The audience for action films most commonly tends to be males because of the history or just the style of story, which mainly interests the male audience.
Due to the nature of the genre we will include some aspects of danger and a little violence. As the film may be rated a 15 the violence will be limited but this will help to create the tension and suspense. Main attention will be upon the unveiling of the situation the soldier is in and his position. We will pay attention to the pain and injury that the soldier has to deal with not only at the start but throughout the film, without revealing too much.
The film will be set in modern time warfare. There will be 3 characters introduced but 2 of them very faintly. The main character will have most of the attention placed upon him and we plan to have some frames from his point of view to help the audience engage with his situation.
PROPS
Apart from the filming and editing equipment, there are very few other things needed. We will need a fake pistol and assault rifle which one of the other group members will able to find from a friend. Also army suits for the two characters that will be introduced which again, will be borrowed from someone. Face paints may or may not be used but these are easy to acquire. These are a few of the basic needs, if anything else is need then I will post the changes.

EQUIPMENT
The equipment we will be using to film is the Song Handycam, this camera will allow us to shoot in high definition and get a good quality images. The tripod that will be used will be the Velbon DV-6000, it is quick and easy to set up, move and dismantle. This camera will be easy to handle when using different camera techniques and camera movements beacuse it is small and light.
POSSIBLE LOCATIONS

Our group went to look for possible locations for our film and found that Hainault Forest is our first choice to film in beacuse it is very appropriate for our genre which is an action-war film. Hainault Forest is an appropriate location to film because it is surrounded by trees, it is a dark place and there are places to hide. There is also plenty of opportunity to get different camera angles as we could climb on the trees or hide in bushes. There are also hills and good scenery from which we can use for establishing shots. We will be filming when there are very few people around so that we have plenty of time to alter the footage and angles. The lake will also provide a good contrast from the action happening and the calm water of the lake. If we are unable to film in this location for whatever reason there are other places such as Fairlop Waters which is close to our desired location and Raphael Park is also a suitable location.
EDITING
For our editing we used a programme called Adobe Premire Pro. I worked with the producer to make sure that all the clips link together to make the entire clip flow so it looks professional. I really enjoyed editing and think that this software was easy to use and I got used to it in seconds. We have decided to use this software for our film because it is easy to put clips together and make it flow and we have learnt how to make titles, however if we want to add effects I might work along the producer, Jaffar, as he knows other editing softwares such as Adobe After Effects, that we could use to make our film more interesting and realistic.
RESULTS
These are the results we got for our audience research.
Our group asked both male and female audiences so we know what both genders want and do not want when watching a movie.
A bad thing about these questions is that some of the audience's did not know what to answer when they were asked 'what is the best opening sequence you have watched?'
AUDIENCE RESEARCH
The audience research helps us understand what the audience enjoy and want in a movie in order for it to be successful.
These are the questions we asked the public for our audience reseach.
1. What type of media are you interested in the most?
2. What genre do you enjoy the most?
3. What makes a good opening sequence ?
4. What is the best opening sequence you’ve watched?
5. If the opening sequence did not establish the genre, would you carry on watching it?

Our group changed our idea of an Action film to a Thriller film due to our audience research, however, we then decided to go back to our original idea of making an Action film because we think our idea for the Action film is better than the Thriller film and would be easier to find a location for the Action film.
